Project:
St-Constant,
Quebec, Lafarge Canada
Studies realised in 1991, 2001 and 2002
Description: The Lafarge cement plant at St-Constant, to
the south of Montreal, commissioned Medialand to plan the rehabilitation
of its phase 1 Quarry and its waste material pile. Site potential
and contextual studies identified a possible vocation for the
property as a centre for outdoor sports activities that would
meet the needs for the local population.
The
nature and extent of the site enable a diverse program of activities
to be offered. Recreational equipment and facilities could be
introduced gradually; a promenade, picnic areas, bicycle paths,
cross-country ski trails, look-out points, chalets and parking.
Other activities such as diving, ice climbing, archery and dog-sledding
could also be accommodated.
